Facial No-No's
A wedding is a once in a lifetime experience and every bride wants to look her best on her big day. Unfortunately there are things that might seem like good ideas at the time, but can cost you dearly. This is especially true for facial care. If you don't take care you might wind up having to try and hide a blemish with mounds of makeup. Here is a list of things to avoid.
Don't go to bed with make-up on
In the days prior to a wedding a girl can use a lot of make-up – engagement parties, make-up proofs, being the centre of attention and all that. Even though you might be tired, always wash the make-up off your face. Make-up left on your face overnight might block your pores and cause blemishes.
Don't pick blackheads or whiteheads yourself.
Unless you know what you're doing (and unless you've had some training and experience, chances are that you don't) you are likely to spread the contents deep into the oil gland and surrounding tissue. Even brides who do their own extractions are tempted to pick at blackheads they would normally leave alone. This can cause infection and permanently stretch the pore. Rather go for a good facial; even if it is just for your wedding.
Don't tweeze anything except eyebrows and splinters
A lot of brides want to remove some facial hair that they wouldn't remove during their normal daily lives. One of the worst things that you can to is to jump in with your pair of tweezers and pluck them out. These hair will grow out flattened or curled in the wrong direction. Rather use a facial wax or find a good electrologist to remove the hair permanently.
Don't overdo washing and exfoliating
This is most dangerous for oily skins. Excessive washing will dry out your skin and prompt your skin to produce even more oil. This can cause unwanted clogging of pores and blemishes.
Don't allow haircare products to stray onto your face
Because you're probably doing a bigger job on your hair during your hair proof and on the wedding day itself, the amount of haircare chemicals that stray onto your skin might be more than usual. Depending on your skin type this might aggravate your skin and block pores. Prevent hair products from straying onto the skin, and remove any spills immediately.
Don't smoke
Smoking is probably the worst single thing that you can do to your skin. Don't succumb to the temptation to start smoking or smoke more to settle some prenuptial nerves. Rather drink an extra glass of water and go for some exercise.
Nobody wants any blemishes on their skin come wedding day. Fortunately is relatively easy to steer clear of some of your worst skin enemies. Now just relax and enjoy the wedding.
